Maternity Session With The Harness Family in Anchorage Alaska

Whitney Skinner and I have been friends since we were babies, so when she got married a few years back it was an honor to shoot her wedding to Steve Harness. Earlier this summer she announced her pregnancy, of baby Rowan “Riggs”! Shortly after she scheduled her maternity session for out at Kincaid park, and we had so much fun! Whitney and Steve brought their other child “Beau”, who is a wonderful pup, as we headed out to brave the cold! Our goal was to create fun and new pictures of the pair that showed their personality, at the same time announce their new addition! At the studio, we are so thankful for all the opportunities we’ve been given to give back to the community! So when we were presented with the idea to shoot for breast cancer awareness we jumped on it!

Late this summer we partnered with Oliva Greeley and the City Diner in Anchorage Alaska for an awesome Pin-Up Calendar photo shoot! The staff of City Diner were beyond accommodating, and a total blast to work with (not to mention the amazing food / drinks!)

Portrait and Wedding Photographers of Alaska

This year, I sat on the board of PWPA and had a blast building relationships with the other photographers in Anchorage. We were honored this year to be the host of the Christmas party for Portrait and Wedding Photographers of Alaska at Treft.Punkt! We had Pizza, Root Beer, and Apple Ale from Moose’s Tooth (which was delicious as always) Our guests included Dan Anderson from Bending Birch Photography, Melissa Laggis from The Picture Lady, Lori Zervantian from Farrar Photography, Marco and Becky Gutierrez from Gutierrez Photography, and Shalem from Shalem Photography.

Anchorage Christian Schools 2012 High School Senior Morgan Jones

Morgan came to visit us just after the first snow fall with her friend Caten (Who went to our friends at Bending Birch Photography for her senior pictures). We started with some simple photos in the studio at Treft.Punkt, shooting on a variety of our backgrounds and papers before we headed outside. Caten was a wonderful lighting assistant while we snuck into a few of our favorite locations to get the perfect light.

Family Portraits in Alaska: The Moor Family!

Late in the summer Diana, her husband Tyler, Vinny and I headed to a local park in Anchorage to capture their new family portraits! In the past I’ve worked with Diana’s brother Chris for his senior pictures, and her mother Dawn for some business head shots, but this was the first opportunity to work with Diana. We had a total blast! The session was filled with fun times of playing on the playground, running thru the woods and tossing leaves, and we ended the session with letting balloons go down by the water! Family Portraits in Anchorage Alaska: Schnug Family!

This fall Matt, Cathy, Madison, Trevor, and Dozer Schnug met us out at Kincaid Anchorage to take their family pictures! We had an awesome time hiking thru the variety of trails (and a bit of a workout!) Trevor and Madison were wonderful subjects to photograph, and have beautiful smiles! After our time near the chalet, we headed to Little Campbell Lake (or Beer Can Lake as the locals call it) to take more pictures in the woods, and then on the dock!

Vendor Spotlight: Creative Cakes by Jeryll

We’re always trying to do something just a little bit different when it comes to the studio. This year we decided we wanted to send cookies to some of our partners in the community, camera shaped cookies specifically. After calling around to the cake shops in town (many of which are beyond talented) we decided on Creative Cakes by Jeryll to create these cookies for us. We were on a very specific time constraint where we would need to pick up the cookies on a Friday, then race them back to the studio to be packaged and shipped out the same day. Giving Jeryll total creative freedom to do what she does best, we were absolutely blown away by the results! Upon picking up the cookies from her shop we immediately saw the effort she had put into each creation. Every cookie was a triple-decker of sugary deliciousness, with intricate details on everything from the shutter to the lens release!

2012 West High School Senior Kendra Crabb

When Kendra and Her Grandmother first came in for their consultation, We knew her session was going to be awesome right away!

When the shoot day finally came, we started to capture her senior pictures at the Treft.Punkt Creative Studio in Anchorage before we headed out to Kincaid Park. Once we arrived we had a total field day jumping and climbing up some hills to make sure we had all the fall colors in her pictures with some beautiful sunlight!

5th Ave Photo Booth is up!

Hi Friends!

This is the second annual 5th Ave Photo Booth! Stop by anytime 24/7 to the Treft.Punkt Studio (245. West 5th Ave, Suite 108) in Anchorage Alaska and take a picture in the Photo Booth! Last year more than 1000 images were taken by visitors to the Booth!

We will host a First Friday in February with images for sale from this year’s Photo Booth. All the proceeds from this event will go to benefit the West Anchorage High School Photo Program! Mrs. Davis, the photography teacher at West is an extraordinary talented educator
